Need more details on this. What does it mean to be "mounted as read-only"? Where you getting errors during copying files to the server? Have you tried doing the same file copies via terminal?

the finder says it is read-only

It shows the read.only symbol (in the lower left part of the finder)

in the terminal it says

iMac:public_html mat$ touch test touch: test: Permission denied

(on a mounted FTP volume)

  • status changed from new to assigned

Interesting. And you are specifying a user name and password which should give you full access?

yes. those servers do not have anonymous access, so the login must have used the username/pw.

i can give you steps to reproduce:

Enable FTP sharing on your mac verfiy with cyberduck (or an other FTP client) that you have read/write access to the folder there

use macfusion to log into ftp://localhost with your login/password

--> its again read-only

If i select the FTP Volume, press cmd-i, it says there too read only

I've just tried mounting localhost via the sshfs and this is read/write, only ftp is read only
